Trauma Informed Therapy
Navigating the source, triggers, impact of, and remedy for trauma safely occurs best when contained in a professional therapeutic space, with evidence-based theoretical foundations and methods. Of course, ultimately, a client-led, autonomous approach works best, giving individuals agency over their own decision-making abilities and strengths. However with the right guidance and support, you are more likely to get a quality and long-term result than if you continue in survival mode, skirting around the issues alone. Making informed choices through a robust, trustful therapeutic alliance is protective, and facilitates the safe exploration of ideas and options.
The Pathway to Authentic Identity
Eventually, what starts to happen is that Clients begin to arrive at the realisation that their experiences, while unique to them, are also not uncommon. The isolation of the crisis begins to dissipate and a broader context starts to take shape.

We all play so many different roles in life and accordingly we are required to wear the “correct” costume and mask. People keep insisting that the healthiest thing to do is to “be yourself”, but who is that really? When are you most “yourself”? Who makes the rules?
